Menopause
This artwork was inspired by artist Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin and his use of symbolism within his artwork. Specifically in his artwork called “The Bathing of the Red Horse”, the artist emphasizes on the color red as being dominant and strong. The use of symbolism through colors had influenced the different colors used in my work on each of the pads, each of the colors symbolizes characteristics of menopause. There is also symbolism in the feminine pads seeing as how during menopause you don’t need them anymore.

Menopause pt. 2
I intended to create this artwork to symbolize that menopause is an important process that women go through in their life. Once again I used symbolism through colors such as the background of the canvas and the feminine pads. I used a dark red color to symbolize what the color of blood means during menopause which is older blood. Without painting the pads and leaving them blank, this symbolized that during menopause a woman’s period stops due to aging and that all the blood has left the pads.
